AREnet Syracuse includes a book of school information in it's complimentary relocation kit. This covers all the townships and city schools, private schools, schools for special needs, higher education, SAT scores and class sizes. We would be pleased to express mail this to you at your request. Just email us and provide your name and address.
For immediate information, Onondaga County Schools publishes a website, as does Central Square School District in the north, Auburn City School District in the West, Fayetteville Manlius High School in the East, and the Syracuse City School District. The Edward Smith elementary school near the university is highly regarded by SU faculty parents and Nottingham high school, just a mile or so away boasts an Olympic size swimming pool, amongst other things.
For parents who prefer private education for their children, Manlius Pebble Hill School accepts students right from kindergarten age and is located in Dewitt. Christian Brothers academy is a little closer in to the city and, like MPH, is a favorite choice for residents of Sedgwick in the north part of Syracuse and Bradford Hills in the eastern section. Details of other private schools can be found at the Catholic Syracuse Diocese Schools website.
Higher education is available at Syracuse University, Le Moyne College, Onondaga Community College, Cazenovia College and Onondaga-Cortland-Madison County BOCES.
